Biography

Elinette González Aguayo was born on August 27, 1973, in the municipality of San Juan. However, much of her childhood, educational development, and professional career took place in her beloved municipality of Dorado, where she resides.

From early in her education, she developed a strong sense of public service, particularly in the areas of accounting and administration, a passion that has shaped her academic and professional career.

A product of the public schools in the municipality of Dorado, González Aguayo completed her secondary studies at the Bayamón Technological University College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting. She earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Project Management, from the Ana G. Méndez University System.

She is recognized for her emphasis on organization, resource allocation, and budget management—skills she has applied throughout her professional career.

Focused on her vocation to serve others, she entered public service working in the Senate of Puerto Rico, where she held various positions, including in the Office of the President of that Legislative Body and as Services Coordinator at the Capitol Superintendency. She also worked in the Accounting Division of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, the Citizen Service Office attached to the Governor’s Office, and the Budget Office of the Administration for Child Support.

Additionally, she has experience in the private sector, standing out as Operations Director, as well as Interim Director, of the Jane Stern Community Library in Dorado, and also as an Administrative Assistant in a law firm.

On November 5, 2024, she was elected Representative for District Number 11, which includes the municipalities of Dorado, Vega Alta, and Vega Baja. She was appointed to chair the Natural Resources Commission.
