The Judiciary Commission shall have jurisdiction over all matters related to the Judicial System, including quasi-judicial entities of the Executive Branch, judges and courts, the practice of law, social services in the courts, legal services for the state and municipal governments and indigent citizens, and the notarial profession; the Department of Justice, the Attorney General of Puerto Rico, the Property Registry and registrars; federal and state courts and claims against the State; the legal body governing the civil system, such as the Civil Code, the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Mortgage Law and its Regulations, among others; the legal body governing the criminal system, such as the Penal Code and the Rules of Criminal Procedure; the Rules of Evidence; the Civil Rights Commission; the protection of citizens’ civil rights and the allocation of funds and resources for access to justice programs; all legislation related to crime prevention and the rehabilitation of offenders; and on any matter delegated to him by the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico or its President.
